27, 28 & 29 July 2012 spaces available... Yin Yoga is an amazing form of meditative hatha yoga which holds certain poses in deep, slow stretches, sometimes up to 5 minutes.
Challenging in its own right, yin yoga targets the connective tissue of the body, particularly improving the mobility of ligaments, bones and joints of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. It is a perfect complement to more dynamic styles of yoga such as Ashtanga and vinyasa, and also to the majority of sports.
On this workshop we will look into the how’s, where’s and why-for’s of Yin Yoga. We will explore the Yin Yoga poses in-depth and build sequences for a home practice.
Yoga teachers will find the workshop a wonderful compliment to their existing teaching.

Donald from www.5elementspath.co.uk will lead us through Five Animal Qi Gong (exercises based on the movements of the bear, tiger, stag, monkey and lion) where we will learn movements to use at home. Qigong is a system of healing exercises originally developed in China over 4000 years ago by the Daoists, who believed that each person was a close fusion of mind, body and spirit, inseparably interconnected by Qi, or body energy. All forms of Qigong are performed in a calm, relaxed manner, with no stress on the body, but providing many health-giving benefits, both physical and mental. Working on every system of the body, including the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory as well as the more obvious muscular and skeletal systems, Qigong can help to prevent as well as aid recovery from disease and illness, and generally increase levels of fitness and health, suitable for beginners and also more experience practitioners. We’ll be in the garden with fresh air and gorgeous views… wear loose, comfortable clothing – and a pair of comfortable shoes (you can also be barefoot if you choose J) £30pp including teas, coffees, snacks & lunch!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More to come…. |
